1895 US Atlas: Very good site with lots of clear images
Animated Map of the US: Watch the boarders change between 1650 and 1907
Cities and Towns: This is a MUST SEE site! Zoom into the most minute details of these Library of Congress maps. There is a good selection of American cities and towns.
Colorful Landform Atlas of the United States:
German Empire West: Very good maps
Hargrett Library Rare Map Collection: Another MUST SEE site
Historic Cities: "This site contains maps, literature, documents, books and other relevant material concerning the past, present and future of historic cities and facilitates the location of similar content on the web".
Map Collections 1500-2002: A Library of Congress site.
Maps and References: The University of Iowa, Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research, has every kind of map you could possibly want!
